Do you know what is meta tags? Actually, meta tags are a type of tag which help Google Bots to crawl your blog more fastly and correctly. You can control which description will Google Bots index, which title will be visible on Search Engines search pages. But nowadays, newbie bloggers are using unnecessary meta tags that have no meaning. For example, ‘rating’ tag. Have you ever seen this meta tag on any website or blog? Actually, some years ago or say some months ago, Google had a feature which show website or blog’s rating on search results. But now, that feature has been removed by Google from search results. But some newbie blogger who don’t know this, have added rating meta tag in their template this time also.
So today, to help newbie bloggers to select only necessary, useful and meaningful meta tags for their blogger blog, I am here posting most important meta tags for blogger which are advanced and SEO friendly and are required to rank your post to the first page of Google search.

  • Description Meta Tag:- As the name of this meta tag cleared what is the means of this meta tag. Sometimes, Google Bots crawl wrong description of Blogger blogs and to correct it, Bloggers use this meta tag. To add this meta tag in your blog, just add this line below ‘<head>’ tag.

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard > Settings > Search preference
  2. Look at Meta Description heading and write your blog’s description on the box after clicking on ‘Edit’ link.
  3. Save it.
  4. Now when you create a post, a new column named ‘Search Description’ will show in which, you have to add your post’s 160 words short description.
